Not Two Paths.
Two Halves of One Calling.

You will hear both words across this site. They are not options to choose between.
They are two movements of the same thing, and they come in order.



Paul does this himself.

The first half of Ephesians is almost entirely about what God has done ―
chosen, adopted, raised, gathered. Nothing is asked of the reader for three chapters.
Then chapter four opens with one word that turns into the whole letter: therefore.
Walk worthily of the calling. Not earn it. Walk in what is already true.

First, what is true. Then what to do.

That order is not decoration, and reversing it is the most common mistake in Christian living.
Building before you know what you are building, or for whom,
produces exhausted people with impressive calendars.
Knowing without building produces informed people who never lift anything.

The order protects you from both.

What God is doing, and where you fit in it. His purpose first, then yours ― because your part only makes sense inside the play. This is the half most people skip, and skipping it is why so many capable people feel busy and unsent.

What you do with what you have been shown. Growth, development, and improvement ― first in you, then through you. Reverence here is not a feeling about God; it is a life arranged around Him and put to work.
